Help Build a Child’s Positive Self Esteem! Self Esteem is a very vital aspect of a child’s life. It is a benchmark for the kind of life that a child will lead. It will be reflected in the way a child leads his or her life and hence it is very important to build a child’s positive self esteem. This blog is all about how to build a child’s positive self esteem.
What is self esteem? Is it important? Can you touch it?
SELF means YOU! ESTEEM means someone or something that is viewed as important, special, or valuable.
“Buckaroo Buckeye rose above those who said hurtful words about him. He believed in himself and his dream of finding his place of worth and value!”
You can’t touch self esteem. You can’t hear self esteem.
Self esteem plays a big part in how you ‘feel’ about yourself.
Having positive and healthy self esteem is really important.
Self esteem helps you feel proud of what you can do, even when things aren’t going so well.
Self esteem gives you courage to try new things.
Self esteem gives you power to believe in yourself.
Self esteem gives you the power to respect yourself, even when you make mistakes.
HEY KIDS AND PARENTS, HERE IS A FUN ACTIVITY TO HELP BUILD YOUR CHILD’S POSITIVE SELF ESTEEM!
Make your own mini-book about yourself. Fill each page with SOMETHING YOU ARE GOOD AT DOING. Staple them together to make a book or glue the pages back to back, or punch holes and tie with yarn.
USE THE EXAMPLE BELOW TO GUIDE YOU. Be creative. Use drawings, photos, pictures from magazines and other craft materials to tell all about YOU. Mom and Dad can help.
